Blessed Joseph VazBlessed Joseph Vaz

He was born on April 21, 1651 at Benaulim, his mother’s village.He was the third of six children.He learned Portuguese in Sancoale, his father’s village, and Latin in Benaulim. He was a Catholic Oratorian priest from Goa. He is known as Apostle of Ceylon. Mission: Jaffna, Kandy (Sri-Lanka) and Kanara, Titocorin (India) he died at Kandy on January 16, 1711, at the age of 59.

Venerable Agnelo De SouzaVenerable Agnelo De Souza

Born at Anjuna, Goa on 21 st January 1869. His vocation was soon gauged and Agnel was sent to study Latin. He next proceeded to study Philosophy and Theology at Patriarchical Seminary of Rachol. On 17th July 1897, he joined the Diocesan Missionary Society of St. Francis Xavier of Pilar, Goa. Appointed him as the Spiritual Director of the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol on 20 th May 1918. Died on 20th November 1927 at Rachol Seminary. It was on the vespers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
